The 1779 PFA Eka League was the 40th season of PFA Eka League, the top Pemecutanian professional football league, since it's establishment in 1978. Pescam Campuhan was the defending champion. Pesub Ubung won their 18th title and retain their achievement as the most successful club in the country. The 1779 season of Eka League will be the last edition of the competition. In the next season, the competition will be replace by Kasa League after all 3 Pemecutanian domestic leagues merged into a single competition system.

The 1779 season begun the new qualification setting for regional and international competitions which regulated by PFA commissioner. The new setting will give the 5th to 8th placement an opportunity to enter CMFA Champions League. While the champion qualified to enter IFCF Champions League. And the 2nd to 4th placement will enter IFCF Challenger's Cup.

Summary

As with previous season, this season was also being broadcast by UBC. Their contract still lasted for the next 2 seasons. With the previous champion and runner-up have the same points and only differentiate by the goals, this season was predicted to have a tight performance as well. Pesub Ubung was not being favorite to win the season after an upset finished in 1778 season. It was still a shocked result when Pesub Ubung get this year title.

Surya Dwipayana won his second consecutive golden booths award after scoring the most goals in the season. The result also gives Pescam Campuhan the most productive club in the season with a tremendous 71 goals. Pesepad Padangsambian was being honor as the least concead goals in a season with 19 goals. Their goalkeeper, Lanang Prabawa was also awarded as the best goalkeeper.

PFA decision to entering CMFA Champions League with the 5th to 8th placement was being rejected by CMFA commissioner. With the rejection, PFA decided to revert back the eligibility for CMFA Champions League as before. Therefore, the 1st to 4th placement are the one that eligible to enter.

Teams

Eighteen teams were compete in the league - top fifteen of the previous season and three promoted teams from Dwi League. The promoted teams were Pohgading, Tonja and Wangaya. They replaced Menesa, Benaya and Pesgem Gemeh.
